I find The Kid in the Red Jacket a touching and inspiring story about a boy named Howard Jeeter and a little neighbor girl named Molly Vera Thompson. This story changed the way I think about others. Before I read this book I knew moving was hard, but I didn’t think much of kids who had moved. Now after learning and reading about what Howard went through, when I see kids who moved I try to talk to them after . Then once I read that Molly went through a big change in her life and Howard didn’t realize, I try to consider others more because I don’t know what they’ve been through.
This book also changed my heart. I used to not pay much attention to others and even my family, now when I come home and see my sister angry or sad I ask her about her day. Now because of this book I have realized that small things can have a big impact on others. This is a goofy story but also teaches important life lessons. I would recommend this book to anyone. The Kid in the Red Jacket is a wonderful book.
